I found a distressing article today in regards to the U.S government spending habits. The easiest way to put it is that the federal government is spending $3 for every $2 it receives and is borrowing the rest. Your family budget could not survive on this formula nor can the federal governments. The budget deficit has now passed the $1.5 trillion mark this year.

Foreclosing on Elder Care Homes

Today I was reading in the AARP Bulletin and I discovered an alarming article that pertained to the foreclosing on Elder Care Homes. We all know that the foreclosure crisis is a plague taking its toll across the country, but you may be surprised to hear that new victims are rising up: older residents of elder care homes.

Buying Insurance for Your Parents

Today I came across an article from Dow Jones that caught my eye. Surprisingly the article addressed the movement for more affluent people to purchase long-term care insurance. The unexpected element of this is that they are not buying it for themselves, but they are purchasing long-term care insurance for their parents.
